LAGUNATICS 2014...was. We'll see you in October 2015!
Last October 2013 we had to cancel our show due to mold being discovered in the Forum Theater. Once it was all cleaned up, we did the 2013 show in January/February of 2014. And the dominoes began to fall....
The news breaks in StuNews:
Dag nab it! Darn! Heck! Son of a bitch! There’s not going to be a LAGUNATICS until October 2015…
The Roast of the Coast that the self-respecting down deep and dirty thinking of us need our fix of every year won’t be making another production until October 2015.
Bree Burgess Rosen said Monday; “We already did a Lagunatics in 2014. Doing a second one nine months later felt like too much of a good thing. We hope you’ll all miss us but we will see you back in our usual October slot in 2015.
“But, look for a short and silly presentation of the material we suspect will be old news in another year.”
Rosen said she and her fellow writers are checking date slots at No Square Theatre to pull off a mini-concert of the already-written material that no one will care about next year. She wouldn’t say what that might be, but we can imagine…can’t we!
“It was actually too soon to get the whole cast back into rehearsals so near our February show this year and as we got further along, we just knew we had to pull this October’s plug.
“The domino effect derailed our demented delight.”
She was also busy with such personal undertakings such as selling her home of 27 years, doubling up her duties teaching and performing with Pacific Symphony among other things.
She closed with a typical Breeism: “Too many balls…not enough jugglers. Meh…”
