AUDITIONS for THE WIZARD OF OZ
Directed by Joe Lauderdale • Choreography by Ellen Prince
Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away to the Land of Oz where she meets all kinds of unusual characters. Or is it really Dorothy’s imagination? It’s the classic MGM film with all the familiar songs. But this is No Square Theatre, where you can always expect the unexpected.
Casting: Actors, Singers and Dancers ages 8-Adult. ALL ROLES AVAILABLE
If you’re not a singer (or even if you are) and have special skills such as gymnastics, acrobatics, playing an instrument, juggling, skateboarding or whatever else, we want you to audition.

Dorothy Gale – age 10-17, strong voice, acting, dance
Aunt Em/Glinda – age 30s-50s Uncle Henry/Emerald City Guard – 30s-50s Hunk/Scarecrow – male, teens-30s Zeke/Lion – male, teens-30s Hickory/Tin Man – male, teens-30s Miss Gultch/Wicked Witch – 30s-50s, non-singing Professor Marvel/Wizard – 30s-50s, non-singing 3 Trees – female, teens-20s Audition Dates: Monday, June 4 – 6:30-10:00 pm Tuesday, June 5 – 6:30-10:00 pm Wednesday, June 6 – 6:30-10:00 pm Prepare: One Musical Theatre song. An accompanist is provided. You must have sheet music in the appropriate key. No a cappella or singing with CD. For non-singing roles please prepare a two minute comic monologue. Dress appropriately for a brief dance combination. You will be at the audition approximately 1 hour for both singing and dance. Bring: Resume and Photo. This is strongly encouraged. However, you can still audition if you don’t have either available. Callbacks will be scheduled so that you will not be needed the entire time. |
