Every quilt tells a story.
Through a rich tapestry of music, movement, and heartfelt storytelling, Quilters celebrates the courage, resilience, and enduring spirit of the women who helped shape the American frontier. Centered around Sarah and her daughters, this Tony Award-nominated musical unfolds as a series of beautifully woven vignettes, each inspired by the memories, hardships, joys, and traditions stitched into generations of handmade quilts. As each patch is added, an unforgettable portrait of family, perserverance, and community comes to life.
Originally premiering at the Mark Taper Forum in Las Angeles before earning five Tony Award nominations, Quilters has become a beloved American musical celebrated for its moving score, inventive storytelling, and timeless tribute to the women whose strength helped build a nation. Based on the oral oral histories of pioneer women and the book The Quilters: Women and Domestic Art, the musical transforms everyday lives into something both deeply personal and profoundly universal.
